Help "Something went wrong. Try again?" Can't access Google Server

Hi all - I just got my 360 - paired it with my GS4 with no problems - and then a screen comes up that just says ... you guessed it ... "Something went wrong. Try again?" with a green check button and a gray x button. Hitting either one does the same thing - says "downloading" then after a random wait from betten 1-10 seconds puts up the same error. I've disconnected and reconnected. Reset the watch. Its got 90%+ charge.

Ideas? Has anybody else seen this? I literally can't get *anywhere* - the watch face (i.e. time) will show up but only when on the charger - otherwise its the error sequence above.

So ... never mind.

I poked at the damn thing some more. Unpaired it from my phone. Put it on the charger. Hit reset while on the charger and paired it. And it downloaded and moved on from there. Now all is working.

I guess I should have never expected more given that they can't even put the worthless "user manual" in the box - after saying its in there.

Sigh. Hopefully its downhill from here.

I'm having the exact same issue. Pairs fine, gets all set up and then when it tries to download the software update, "Something went wrong". Neither retry nor cancel do anything, and it's stuck at that screen.

I've unpaired and factory reset probably a half a dozen times, tried it on and off the charger, watch is now at 100%, phone is connected to the Internet and all that good stuff.

I'm probably going to try and send it back to Motorola unless anybody has any ideas? (It also has about 7 stuck pixels, so maybe I'll get those fixed in the process too...)

Thanks!

Hi guys and welcome to the Forums!

It's great to have you here :)

Aclimatt, I wish I could help you. The Moto 360 has a learning curve for everyone... considering the wonderful manual that came with it

I can safely assume that you have the Android Wear app installed on your phone? If all else fails, reset the watch, uninstall the app, reboot the phone, re-install the app, reboot again and try connecting the watch. If it still fails, then it's time to contact Motorola. Good luck!

I got my moto360 today ran into the same problem. After some playing around with it, i found that the AP connected to the mobile phone is the issue. I disconnected from the AP and the issue disappeared. I am using Nexus 5.

Hope this helps!

AP?

Hi, i had the same issue and i solve the problem doing this:
First of all i live in asia ( i don't think this problem afflict also the watch in us )
the only problem i got is the first update, it won't connect to internet, i just use a us vpn on my phone and it started to download the update, once it was installed everything start to work smoothly. so the problem might be the access point where your phone is connect at.

i hope you can fix your problem too
