Help Something wierd happened after update

bikerart

Lurker
I just did an update on my Galaxy Note 2 (Samsung update). Ever since then when a call comes in the speech announcement voice does not say the phone number correctly, also it now say " to, and my number" but it does not say that number correctly either. It says it like a regular numerical string of numbers. like 123- 456- 7890 it says 123thousand 456 then the last 4 numbers.

What gives here.

Welcome to Android Forums, bikerart!:)
I have to admit I am stumped on this issue.
Hopefully someone in this forum will be able to help you with this.

Welcome to the forums bikerart.
I have to admit I'm also stumped so won't be of any help to you here.

Can you please be more specific regarding the Samsung update you did earlier?
That'll go a long way in others familiar with your issues begin able to help you out if they can.

Always keep in mind, if after an update you notice you are starting to have issues then a Factory Reset is recommended to eliminate issues to be easier to troubleshoot. I know it is not what you wanted to hear, but usually resolves most issues, your carrier will tell you the same.

Sorry have not been back to check out replies. My note 2 had a message on the screen that there was a new update, so I did it. It has been about 2 weeks or so. So now when I have an incoming call that is not a contact the voice spouts of a ton of numbers mixed in with the phone number. Like I had one today.... 503 924 7863 lets say, well it might say "incoming call from 844 500 503 924 7863" something like that. It makes no sense.

Samsung had me do a factory reset to no avail.

I do have something else happening, I can't get the pics in a text to stay on the screen longer that 5 sec. when I click on them to enlarge, so I can see them the screen goes black and a recording bar is moving across the screen

the picture message is because of how to note 2 processes MMS with text. if you get a picture message with NO text in the message, you should be able to just open and view as an image, otherwise your phone will see it as a slideshow.
