Something's changed in KIES

Hi all,

I've just plugged my GNote into my PC and fired up KIES as I do every day waiting for my ICS update. After the normal plug, unplug, shut kies, restart kies etc etc it finally connected (yaaay!).

However, this time when it eventually connected I have a different message. It tells me what my firmware is but doesn't say "this is the latest firmware" in big orange letters.

I can't see any update notification but should I start to get excited?

No!!! its back to normal (normal?)....

No - something has changed - my rooted note cannot see Kies anymore. Old version did not seem to mind that it was rooted.

New version won't recognize my Note - tells me to uncheck the USB developer mode - even though it is unchecked.

My O2 Note has upgraded in England, I thought all of UK had been upgraded. I do find problems with ICS in battery life ( greater drain than with gingerbread)and older apps, Perhaps we need an app that can verify that all of our apps are ICS compliant?

At last... just got my ics update, now looking forward to experimenting!
