Somewhat OT: Droid X on AmazonWireless..

AmazonWireless has the Droid X at $49 for upgrades for existing customers..

Has anyone done this before? I'd like to upgrade two phones and this seems like a viable option, but i dont want any changes to my plans, etc.

Curious if anyone is familiar.

Not at all off topic, bro. I did, but not with Amazon. I've found Best Buy to have the best deal to upgrade family plan members. I bought two Droid Incredibles, one for my daughter and the other for my wife for free with a 2 year plan. Can't beat that. :)

Wow, and you were able to keep your existing plans etc?

Upgraded@costco for $49 including apretty nice protective case that has kickstand and a car charger. Some nice deals out there.

Refurbs are free at Verizon right now. Also $100 off any smartphone. New ones must be close...

Please keep in mind the price is a lot better but they all come with something different. Some DX's come with 16gb microSd card, some come with 2gb, some come with 8gb, some come with car charger and case, etc... Make sure you get what you want PLUS the price...

I say this because my cousin just got the Droid 2 Global or Droid Pro 2 Global (whatever it's called, I dont care cause it's not an X ;) ) and he got a $49 2 Year Upgrade plus 8Gb and Car charger from Costco - He also has to pay tax on the full price of the phone - Total $96-$99.

Got my two a week and a half ago.. Set me back 0.02.. That hurt but if i skip a few lunches i may be ok..lol ;)

I was told by a Verizon rep (via chat) that if you order a phone through a third party, you don't get technical support or early upgrades. I thought this was bs, but can you confirm? I'm currently on at&t.

its standard... they dont get revenue off your phone, why would they help u...

that said, they probably will talk you thru problems, but i would be very surprised if they would send a replacement for a hardware issue.
