songs in folder but not showing up when I use Play app

I have all my albums/songs in the music folder on my internal storage. For some reason there are tracks missing from an album here and there. For instance, I have an album with 9 tracks on it but for some reason track 4 and 8 arent there. I checkled in the folder itself and they are there, just not showing up in the Play app. Any ideas?

I did try that as well as cleaning these player cache as well... it's quite aggravating

try to sync the play music app on your computer. all my music on my pc shows up on my phone.

I guess I can try that. I have more music on my phone than I do on my PC

Try another music player. Myself, I've found the Google one to be less than satisfactory, and found it does have problems identifying some of my songs and albums, even though they're all ID3 tagged correctly.

Usually I use BlackPlayer EX or Odyssey. No need to fight with something that's apparently broken. As you have a Samsung, try the stock Samsung music player, it's not bad.

The stock Samsung player does the same thing, same missing tracks

Try a third-party player that scans and uses its own music database. I use BlackPlayer EX and Odyssey. No idea why the Google and Samsung players aren't seeing all your songs, but I did find the same problems with the Google one.

I also found the Google player split a lot of albums up, even though they're correctly tagged and have no problem in other players.

I also installed the free version of Black Player. It still is not seeing all the tracks in my phone

ID3 tags. The embedded metadata that identifies artist, song, album, track, genre etc

How did you tag your MP3s etc, what software? .

I didnt tag it at all as far as I know. When I rip a CD to my PC hard drive it goes into my iTunes then I just copy the iTunes folder over to my phones storage
If I DL something from the web directly to my phone I just move the folder from download to the proper band folder in my phones music folder

On your PC right click a song that does show/play correctly on your phone and click properties, look at the general and details tab, and now compare to a song that doesn't show up ...is there any info there that might be missing that you can add?

so are you saying to plug my phone into my PC and look at the files that are on my phone? It does not appear I can change the stuff in details tab

So I pulled up the details for two songs from the same album. One of which shows up in the player and the other doesnt. The details are the same for both tracks except for track title and length...
