Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

If you could get this working just with FF7, you'd be my idol. I would definitely be willing to shell out a few dollars for this one. Let me know if you need beta testing :)

Why does the emulator only have an A and B button? Didn't the PS1 have Square, Triangle, Circle, X?

hes building the framework using gameboid (only A/B) so once he gets it working right, making the buttons/GUI will be easy

Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3 in my pocket! This is excellent news, thank you so much for your hard work. Any chance you can get this to work with internal memory, given the size of some of the games?

This is really good news, what would be ideal though is being able to map the keys.

I have a Desire and what could be more perfect than haveing the volume buttons as left and right and the search key as accelerate and the back button as brake.

That way you dont have to touch the screen and you get good physical buttons to play with.

I so hope that this will be possible!

It should be possible, since he is using the interface of the -oid emulators. I often had my keys set up like that, when I was using the htc hero

Physical keyboard on the Devour makes a lot of the emulators quite easy to play. I could get a pretty similar feel with the gameboy emulators using the physical keyboard.

What's the status on this project? I am very interested and would def purchase\beta test for you. I have a moment which as far as I can tell doesn't have a dedicated gpu however some guy has made some opengl drivers that increase the graphic performance of the moment so id be curious to see if it will work with such an underpowered phone. Btw final fantasy 7 working alone would prob net you 200000 purchases

I also would be more than willing to beta test. I've got a good background in software QA (8 years in a professional QA engineer position, beta tester for a few games, and a handful of applications previous to that) and would be willing to do a closed beta. I have a non-rooted (stock) EVO as well, and want to make sure the emulator is fully supported on the device, in part since it doesn't have a physical keyboard attached. Considering it sounds like the code is coming from the existing -oid emulators for the UI, it shouldn't be an issue.

I also have quite the library of existing PSX games from when it was still the "it" game system, so legality isn't an issue with respect to ROMs.

I'm quite excited for a PSX emulator to be released, and even more so for the N64 emulator. Goldeneye on the EVO would be delicious. :D

If this works well, I will never put my phone down again. FF7, Metal Gear Solid, Mario 64, YES PLEASE!

I could almost get rid of my PSP for this, as I bought it almost exclusively to play FF Tactics without needing to hook up my original PS. I'd miss Jeanne De' Arc though.

You can just play FF Tactics on the GBA emulator right now :)

Honestly, you could charge me like $5 per rom plus money for the actual app and I would still buy it. All I want is FF7.
