Sorry guys, Im usually not one to just request help like this, but I think I might have veered off into a bad area.

I got my GS2 last night (unlocked international version) and I rooted right away. I did a backup in Clockwork and then flashed the 4.0.3 ICS ROM. My phone is working but I having a ton of issues with my network connections. I wanted to flash back to my stock firmware. My problem is that my S2 cant read my SD card where I believe my back up is. I was going to try and root ICS and then flash my backup which would bring me back to stock. I just dont know if that backup is there or not.

I then tried to see if I could find my original firmware to just flash back to that, but Im not 100% sure which version it was. I know I used the KI2 kernal when I rooted. Would that be my correct firmware? If so, the thread over at XDA has that firmware but the link doesnt work.

So I guess my question is, if I flashed back to the wrong firmware version, what would happen? Would I brick my phone? Would I be able to plug into Kies and have it update me to where I need to be?

Just looking for a little direction. Thanks in advance.

Best option firstly is to get your CWM backup back on if possible.
When you say your S2 cant read your SD card, what happens exactly?

If this cant be sorted, then consider flashing stock firmware from here

Thanks for the quick response. My SD card doesnt show up. The phone is just not reading it for some reason. I have a old BB at home and I will try and put the card in there and then copy it, if its there. Then I could copy it over to internal memory and flash from there?

That link you gave me is where I was, but the KI2 firmware link is dead. What would happen if I flashed a different firmware from what was shipped on my phone?

Personally, I would flash NEAK (or Siyah) kernel. This may allow you to access your SD card through CWM recovery. Worth a try.

And personally again, I would forget any ICS ROM, and forget going back to stock firmware. Put on CheckROM with either of these kernels I mentioned then you wont go far wrong at all.

Forget going back to stock because Im too far gone and it will never happen?

On second thoughts, I'm not sure if the ICS flash has affected your PIT and/or bootloader as I've never flashed an ICS ROM before. Someone else would need to confirm if flashing CheckROM would be enough, or perhaps rerooting with the old bootloader before CheckROM???

A lot of the ICS ROM's seem to include a new .PIT file in the flash which seems to lead to problems when reverting back to Gingerbread.

Thanks for the input guys. I was able to get the ICS Rom rooted and then ran clockwork and was able to restore back to Gingerbread. Everything appears to be in order.
