Sorry to ask a dumb question... restoring galaxy sII to stock

Lurker
Hi all,

I've been a long time lurker on here and I must say this is a great forum - it's taught me loads!

I've got a slight problem though. I've just upgraded to a Galaxy Note (loving the screen!) and I want to send my Galaxy SII back to Orange for their recycling programme - they'll give me

Here you go! The latest available Orange ICS official firmware for the SGSII, here.

Just flash it using Odin and it will restore your phone to Orange ICS. Don't forget to reset the flash counter, not that I'm encouraging you to deceive anyone in anyway. ;)

You, Sir, are a gentleman! Thank you so much :)

(btw, do I need a USB jig to reset the flash counter?)

You will need to reset the flash counter but the jig doesn't work on the new bootloaders I'm given to understand.

I'll throw this one open to the forum as, to be honest, I've never reset my flash counter to date.

Thanks to everyone who has chipped in :) I've now got my phone back to stock Orange firmware so I can drop it off with them today to be recycled!

The stock firmware was sticking on the boot logo, even after being flashed three times, so I went into the CWM menu and wiped everything (which I should have done first). All working now!

Oh, it is - it's even better than the SII!

Orange are doing a deal whereby you can pay off your outstanding contract with a 33% reduction if you take out another contract with them. So I did so, with what I'll get for recycling my SII with them paying off my outstanding contract. Everyone's a winner!
