Help Sound and Display < Ringtone Volume

So i have the Samsung Intercept VM and i wanna turn down my Notification Volume so i went to Sound & Display < Ringtone Volume and clicked on Notification Volume and when i did that this message came up
"Sorry!
The application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again
Force Close"

Whats going on and how can i fix it? HELP!

I'm not smart in these matters by any means but I know quite a few problems can be solved by powering down, pulling the battery kinda stuff. Maybe it's worth a try?
