Help sound and vibrate

i down loaded a couple of ringtones and assigned them to diff contacts.
the default ring tone still rings when they ring?

Also the phone used to vibrate when being called this no longer happens and when inputting on keyboard this no longer happens?

i have even put phone on vibrate mode and still does not vibrate when called
any help would be appreciated.

looking at some other posts seems i may have to do a factory reset.
My cantacts are all on my phone so i just export them to sd card will they be safe on sd card when do reset?
