so, when i call someone, they cannot hear me. when someone calls me i cant hear them AND they cant hear me. ive tried restarting my phone and pulled the battery, but that didnt work. any suggestions?

Hm, nothing of that sort happened to me. You may have just gotten a defective unit and may need to swap it for a new one at an ATT store (or wherever you purchase it from). Did this happen from day one or did it just recently start?

What do you mean by, "restarting the phone and pulling the battery?" Did you do a live battery pull (with the device turned on, remove the battery, wait a full minute, put the battery back in and power the device up)?
By "restarting" did you mean rebooting (shut the device off, wait a few seconds, power the device back up)?
Some users say "restart" when they mean "reset," a factory data reset (menu > privacy > factory data reset), which is what I recommend. Have you tried that yet?

turned off and pulled the battery. whats the difference between doing a live pull and a dead pull?
I, too, have an audio problem. The mic works for everything except for using the handset in a call. It works for voice commands, voice recording and call using the speaker phone (although of not very good quality).
Both my original and the replacement phones have the same problem and ATT tech support has recommended that I return the phones. I bought the phone from AmazonWireless and they have already arranged for another replacement. Hopefully, this 3rd unit works for me because I'm very close to my 30-day limit or else I'll have to deal with HTC directly for warranty.
