Help Sound problem I noticed wearing bluetooth headset

I was at the gym today and noticed that sound seemed to randomly fluctuate on volume levels, even in the same song. I am not 100% certain whether it was caused by something or just random, but I wasn't getting any notifications rings (and thus lowering the volume of the background music). I saw another thread on this but didn't get much from it.

I tried looking at adapt sound and samsung's music player, trying to disable all options, especially one "smart volume" (I use google play music), but it was still happening.

Has anyone else taken a look at this?

Nothing conclusive as of yet; need to test more, like if it happens with a regular 3.5mm as well.

My guess would be that the automatic noise reduction (ANR) built into the phone is the culprit. ANR uses a microphone to monitor ambient noise and cancel the noise with equal opposite noise at the speakers. Also volume adjustment. There should be a sensitivity setting somewhere.

Yeah. My wife and I have noticed all sorts of sound quality issues, using either the phone itself or bluetooth or earbuds.

I talked to sprint, and they tried various things. No help.

I don't know if this is something they can fix with an OTA adjustment, or what, but I am going to go ahead and have the phones replaced and not take the chance.

The phone does a number of things really well but I can't understand people half the time, and that is unsat. :(
