Help sound/ringtone/volume problems, after JellyBean 4.1.2 OTA update

Updated last night, to JellyBean 4.1.2, even though ringtone is set to girtab and SMS/email sounds are active too, the phone is basically on silent

no ringtone when call arrives, no notification sound when email/SMS arrive - only vibrate.

anyone else had similar problem/know of a fix?

I am not having the same problem as you. But I believe that when my phone comes back automatically after silent mode (using Shush) the volume is much louder than before it was shushed.

This was not the case prior to 4.1.2
 
Definitely something going on here. This morning my phone beeped somewhat loudly to notify me of a new email. I turned it down, thinking it was my usual half volume level and the fact that it was first thing in the morning that made it sound so loud.

Instead I found my phone at only one click away from full volume. This is a volume level my phone is NEVER in.
