Sound Systems that connect to DHD DLNA?

Sorry in advance guys and gals for this random question.

Our DHD's have DLNA right? So our phones can stream music wirelessly to a DLNA reciever?

I guess I have this imaginary dream is to have some sort of micro/midi systems in key rooms (with a main system in the living room) of the house so e.g. i can play some tunes when im cooking...or chilling in the bath...or when doing weights in the conservatory etc etc...

Does anyone have sound systems with DLNA built in they can recommend? I've been searching around and it's a lil hit and miss, all i can seem to find are full systems with built in BlueRay players and i dont really one one for the bath room ta :p I just want a take from a DHD owner that utilises DLNA for any advice .

I know some will argue just getting tons of those small x-mni II's all over the place and just plug it in your 3.5mm jack, but i'd still like to have the phone close by to select and skip through tracks if needs be. AND having seperate systems will allow my Gf with her iphone 4 to listen to the radio when instead.

Hope this makes some sense? cheers all!

P.s. Mods? feel free to bump this into the accessories thread instead

on another note, instead of using the variety of adapters....has anyone used 'airsync' or 'iMediaShare' to connect their Andy Phone to their Xbox 360? just realised i could maybe use the 360 ive got instead... thanks again!

just enable dlna (which is wifi) on your laptop, get your phone to detect it via connected media...and that should be it as far as i was told lol....anyone else?

Your tv, dvd, sound system etc needs to be DLNA compatible. Then, usually, you'll need to buy & fit a dongle on top for it to connect wirelessly.
Or, you can hardwire it using Ethernet cable.

If you want to go the wireless way, you'll also need a WiFi router.

Then you need a server app, either on your phone or pc etc.
I use twonky & imediashare, but there are others.

I think w7 has the server ability built in.

Goto DLNA.org for a list of manufactures & products.

I've got a cheap media streamer (ZyXEL DMA-1000) attached to my TV and hi-fi and can play my Desire HD content via that. Works fine - just read the section in the manual starting on page 161 "Sharing media on your home network".

I connect mine to my Synology DS211 NAS and works superb. If only I could dock it to my hifi somehow like I do with my iPhone

sweet, cheers guys for the advice..will have a gander overtime, will get back to y'all once ive bought my solution and have that in place :)
