Space getting eaten up!

Hi,

Yesterday I had 70 Mb of internal memory left, today it's only 55!
I haven't installed any apps, and even if I have, not 15 Mb!

So where's the memory being used up? I have seen that if you go into a contact's card, you are able to see his facebook photos in one of the tabs. These are downloaded to the internal memory then?

Does android automatically clear these things?
