spam messages

I've had my EVO for one week now. I've gotten a few spam messages, from spam bots (hey I'm 19 and single, wanna chat?) to best buy saying I won a gift card. They aren't affiliated with a number so I can't block them. Anyone else have these issues and how do I block them? Thanks.

I think it's also "xapush.com opt out". I've tried AirPush Detector but nothing came up. I only have the same apps as were on my last phone (lg optimus v) and I didn't have any problems with them so I wonder... I have AVG on my phone too and it didn't detect anything.

Check your messaging app to see if you can block spam if they come in as text messages. I use GoSMS for example, it has that feature.

The messages don't come in as texts they come in as internet/browser notifications. But I can't uninstall the stock internet app and replace it with another one

Sounds like you installed an app that is spamming you.
