There are some apps that have these type of spam to support their software. I forgot what it was called but usually reading the comments in some of the apps will tell you if the app has or does not have these type of advertisements. I was reading reviews of one app and reviews pointed out that it had these type of advertisements. You need to see what apps are causing these advertisements and can be stopped by removing the app or purchasing their upgrade version to remove the ads.

an example is the ics theme for go launcher ex that was released a few days ago, Uses LiveMobiles spamware

I just installed Google Offers app - and got something very similar to what you're reporting.

By chance is that installed with that ROM?

If not, then it is another app that is doing as VS mentions.

its air push sending ads in his notification bar, so far i have only seen moto devices with this issue

I had 0 adds until I installed Google Offers. And I've had my BIONIC since drop day. However, maybe I've never installed an app that uses / makes use of Air Push until now?

I cannot rightly say on my DROID, b/c it was rooted 23 months ago, so I never ran a stock ROM again after that for more than an hour tops.

Oh well.

It is known as notification push advertising of companies like
AirPush
LeadBolt
Appenda
IAC (?)
Moolah Media
TapIt
Urban Airship
Xtify

'Addons Detector' finds this AirPush addons
Use the filter 'Push Notifications'.
