Help Spam

Over the past couple of weeks I have started receiving spam via text messaging. Does anyone know a way to get better details about the sender? There is no phone number or anything else identifying who is sending me this crap. Just a four digit number that changes every time I receive a new message. Call/SMS blocking apps do not work on my Esteem. I'm getting frustrated with this as it is starting to happen more frequently.

Usually texting "No" or "stop" can remove you from a solicitor's list. Try that. However you might need to be rude to get your point across like when I first got my number, I kept getting texts about political information and candidates in Haiti. I told them stop, and no, and then they told me a president was elected. I shot a very very hateful and explicitly racial message expressing with anatomical specificity about how much I don't care. :) hope it helps.

I've tried the STOP, NO, END. Didn't seem to do much

Those blocking apps don't work on my Esteem. I'm one of the few people that have that issue. The developers say it has something to do with the phone design. I just tried my number @mymetropcs.com and it went through. Same as the other texts it just shows message from 5159. There has to be a way to turn that off. I don't want mynumber@mymetropcs.com.

if u look closely sometimes u can see the true address of the email thats emailing u and sometimes u cant. for example i got 1 spam sms so far from dorbciqekv@prizetext.net and ive never given out my number i suspect those using tango and something called amp app are having all their contact numbers copied for telemarketing uses. my friend that dosnt know a word of english sent me a txt in pure english to join tango and it wasnt a legit txt came from somewhere else.

Hi circtest

There is hope for you. I had that same problem before and I found an app that works like a charm at blocking those pestering text messages, the app in question is named 'SMS/MMS Blocker Pro' developed by 'Incorporate Apps' which you can find in Google Play (this one is a paid version) I think there is a free version but the free version has some limitations such as not blocking MMS text messages, so I went for the paid version and set it up to block the spam messages.

Here is the link if you are interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wiY29tLmluY29ycG9yYXRlYXBwcy5zbXNibG9ja2VyIl0.

Up to now all those spam messages has been blocked sucessfully by this app. :D

This mms is in fact legit.

Your friend downloaded tango and invited you to join. Idk about the others though. But I'm 99% sure this is legit (sent the same msg to myself just now)

Not legit i called him and he had no idea that app was inviting people from his contact list. but anyways these app devs are doing things they shouldnt do and some1 must report them.
