Well I sorted the phone. In case anyone else has the same problem you disconnect the phone and pull the battery out. Put it back in and power up the phone while holding the volume up button to enter download mode. connect the phone again and disable the phone as a modem in the device manager on your pc (I'm using vista) and you'll be able to flash it with KDZ
