spare parts shows google maps eating my battery!!!

when i click gps usage its shows all blue!! how do i turn it off or any way to fix this....any help appriciated
gps toggle is off
 
I keep my GPS on and use maps almost daily and my battery life does not suffer....Just a suggestion, maybe use the BACK key instead of the HOME key to exit the Maps app.
 
Yeah I don't think the gps is really used unless you're in an app which requires it.

However, simply having it turned on DOES effect the battery life.
 
anyone have spare parts and can check gps usage...
i dont use google maps and gps if off...i even disabled= use wireless network and location setting and gps satellites

I believe spare parts is telling you that when your gps is in use it is being used by maps one hundred percent of the time.

Mine shows fifty percent blue on maps and fifty percent on beautiful widgets. These are the only two apps I use gps for.

Gps on all the time does not severely drain the battery unless an app is utilizing it. That being said you will get somewhat better life by toggling it as needed.

ok i guess u didnt read that i never use google maps!. all gps is off. why would it say 100% if i never use it.

I did read that.

What time do you have spare parts checking? Since last charge or what?

Also just because you don't use maps does not mean that the system doesn't open it. I'm not am expert on spare parts but I'm quite sure the gps reading you are getting from it is not doing a thing to your battery. Just keep it off and you'll be fine.
