speaker??

It's on the bottom.

Not as good as the One with the Boomsound on the front, but I think it's a lot better than being on the back

Just wanna offer my 2 cents on the subject of front-facing speakers,as an HTC ONE owner:

IMHO,front-facing speakers are little more than a marketing tool.

While they are nice,to say the audio experience one is led to believe that they will experience,in the marketing campaign (TV ads),is grossly exaggerated would be an understatement.

Perhaps some might, but honestly, how many phone/MP3 owners actually use their device as an entertainment center for a room full of people (on a regular basis)?

Whether the speakers are front or rear facing, for most, the speakers fall short of a gratifying experience, hence the exploding market for earbuds/headphones/BLUETOOTH devices.

I must have missed that ad

Front facing speakers just make sense. It was one of those "duh" things that IMO is clearly better than the way manufacturers had been previously doing it.

One of several:

HTC One - (Ad-Commercial) BoomSound - YouTube

As I said, just one humble persons 2 cents.Yes,the FF speaker design makes sense (no pun intended on both accounts),& to a degree,HTC has a valid marketing tool,as no other major phone has the feature.

However,I feel the audio experience is overrated & too much real estate was used (length) for the dual-speaker set-up.

While I love my HTC One, I have to agree with Kolio on this.

I love my HTC One but the front facing speakers are really a marketing tool as at the time no other phone sported this particular feature (I think).

Like the picture in picture feature on my old Galaxy S3 (I can't remember what it was called) I only used the speakers once to show someone what the sound output was like. At all other times I use headphones, my computer or my music streaming box in my lounge to play music.

Whilst the clarity and general 'roundness' of the sound might be better on the HTC due a number of factors, such as Boomsound and the front facing speakers for instance, I maintain that for most users, front facing speakers are so far down the list of selling points that it makes no difference.

Still, the phone is epic though but like all things, I get itchy feet and want 'The Next Big Thing'

I disagree.

I Skype a lot and having 2 front speaker make things a joy!

Playing with the one at the store I really enjoyed the front facing speakers, but not enough justify how much larger they make the body of the phone.
