Does the speaker move from the front to the sides sour the deal for anyone?

Maybe but the speakers on my Nexus 7 are on the side/back and very good. I would have to hear (or not) before it becomes a problem.

I tested out the Galaxy Tab 3 at a store to see how there side speakers were because they look just like the ones on the Note 2014. They were pretty good considering. I dont think it's a problem. now the one speaker on the ASUS transformer...that's a problem :/

Yes they moved the speakers from the front to the side

Not having played with the previous version I cannot male a direct comparison, but the sound is loud and clear on the 2014.
