Special Deal On A 6000 mAh External Battery

myCharge 6,000mAh USB External Battery for $60 + free shipping deal - CNET Marketplace

Today only. Just thought I'd pass it along. Having said that, Amazon offers the Anker 5600 mAh external battery for $29.98.

Thanks P Doc.......this is a good deal for the size of mAh offered. I carry a New Trent ipulse IMP 100P......will pass along a photo of this ultra sleek 10000 mAh dual USP port charger. It has both 1v and 2 v charging ports for smartphones and tablets, is fairly compact ( fits in a coat pocket ) and is wonderful. I used it for my now retired Rezound and have it ready when I put my DNA through a tough day.........the compact sized external battery pack is THE WAY TO GO these days if one has any number of gadgets.......on line deals have it around $50 .......

I never understood that multiple port stuff. Which is better for recharging a phone like the DNA...the 1v or 2v output? Would it damage the phone to plug it in to the other one (which ever that is)? Is one used excusively for smartphones, the other for tables? If so it's getting more difficult to dtermine which is which in the age of 'phablets.'

The New Trent i-pulse I use has two USB ports - one is 1 amp and one is 2 amps with both at 5 V's. The best way to think of electricity is voltage is equivalent to water pressure in a hose and amperage is the equivalent to the amount flow rate ( of electrons ) within the hose or the measure of how many electrons are pushed past a given point. That being said, a charger with the same voltage and a higher amperage will charge a smartphone or tablet in a shorter charge time as lithium ion batteries have limiting voltage parameters within the charge cycle.

Now ...... is that clear as mudd !#%$&!.?????........I am not an electrical engineer but play one on TV :)

OK, Sorry to be so dense but what's the bottom line? Do our phones do better with the 1 amp output or the 2 amp output or does it matter?

IIRC The phone typically will only pull what it needs, the max is 1 amp on a phone. The tablets like to have 2 amps. I think that is the max for tablets.

So if you hook up anything over 1 amp to the phone the charge rate would still be the same as 1 amp.

Agreed. I just got mine yesterday and it works great. Classy little piece of technology for $30. Just be aware of two things. It does not come with an AC plug so you'll either have to connect it to a usb source or cannibalize an AC plug from one of your other charging cords. Also, they micro usb adaptor that it comes with is pure crap and doen't fit the DNA's charging port well at all. I just ordered a 6" usb to micro usb cord from Amazon for $3 that should take care of that. But it does appear to work flawlessly and for $30 I don't see how you can beat a 5600mAh unit like this.

I plan to simply charge it with the HTC USB charging port that came with my DNA. I also plan to charge the DNA with the USB to MicroUSB cord that came with it. Then I don't have to buy anything else for it besides a case and a screen protector. Hoping these guys come out with stuff very soon, I love their products!
