speedtest post

I was in a area for like five mins and my 4g stopped working and i saw that the 3g icon came on. i tried to do a speed test and it was .001 mpbs down and .007 up but out seems that 3g doesn't work properly because the app seemed to lag

Metros 3g is no different then their 1x. Dont think the 3g is for the customer. Its only purpose is to take strain off their 1x network. Same reason all their phones come with that crappy easywifi app
 
Hey guys, does anybody live around in orange county, CA??
cz i did lot of speed tests since i changed my esteem and i get only 1mbps max. The usual speed is around 400-800 kbps. But the upload speeds max out like from 5mbps to even 12mbps . So can anyone from Orange county, CA. post their speeds so that i know if its the phone or the poor towers?
 
hi folks just want to ask if anyone out there has the lg esteem- metro pcs in new brunswick, NJ. I want to know how is the service in new brunswick area and how fast is t the internet or any in the 1x area cuz here is not 4G. also. Want to know if the esteem is like the lg thrill of att, i think both looks very similar.Thanks

I know a guy in NJ with a Huawei Ascend and had 1x which I think we can all agree on sucks but Metro put up a 3g tower in his area. Said its a little faster but not by much. Which I had the same results when I forced my prl. The Esteem is actually a rebranded/renamed Revolution. Everything is basically the same spec wise except for the internal storage which the Revolution has 16gb total I think. And the battery cover is different
 


Decided to do random speed test from a new location i happened to be in and this is what i got. Couldn't retest because i was in my car. I am currently on prl 3019
 
I just tried the FCC Mobile Broadband Test made by Ookla which is made by the same people who made the Speedtest.Net Mobile and my download speed is basically the same on it but my upload is almost 10x's higher then Speedtest.net app Dont know which is the most accurate but its a HUGE increase on the upload. (Would take a SS but I havent rooted this Esteem yet. Had my original replaced.)

Upload- 11991
Latency/Ping- 396

SpeedTest.Net
Download-1355
Upload-1633
Ping- 142
 
Still havent rooted but since you are using the same server I am (Dallas The closest one to me I had to share these) Still not sure how or which one is most accurate

Give you a break down ;)

My lowest download is a 1179kbps and the highest is a 1366kbps

My lowest upload is a 15278kbps and my highest is a 17676kbps

And thats out of 7 tests back to back off the same Dallas, Tx server Rob4828 is/was using.

nice also forth worth is about 20 minute from dallas depending where you coming from, and i did a test there also...but during the day well i say from 10am to about 9pm thats where all the traffic for 3g and 4g is being use mostly, than after them times you will see improvement on the test cause by that time everyone is not using it.
 
I'm confused about the speed test app and the FCC app. in speed test my speed using a Pensacola server rarely get above 2000 kpbs and i'm in Florida but in the FCC app Dallas Texas server i get higher than 2000 70 percent of the time.

Yeah Im in central Fla and I dont understand the server thing. With the FCC it sets me to Wa but I changed it to the closest to me which is Dallas. And on The SpeedTest it sets me to Kansas but I change it to Pensacola.

you should try prl 3020 i pushed it to my phone yesterday and its by far the best prl i"ve had. signal is stronger and 4g stays on all the time in places where i barely had a 4g signal. maybe it will help you with your speeds.

Yeah I updated the 3018 to 3019 by *228 Im might get around to actually pushing one. I pushed them so many times and ran tests on them on my Ascend over and over I dont even feel like messing with it because no matter which prl I used my speed never changed by much and 3g was VERY spotty. And plus I have great 4g coverage in Brevard and Indian River (I live in Brevard and work in Indian River) I havent lost signal or 4g once except when I was in Vero Beach at a house right on the beach I lost signal completely. It was just a low signal/ dead spot tho because my boss only had 1 bar and dropped a call and he has AT&T
 
people please help!!! i have been blackberry all my life, I will buy an android next week. im tmobile and sucks in new brunswick, NJ i like the lg esteem but there is no 4G in my area. what is the best prepaid service. im talking speed and signal in my area? metro? i hear that virgin mobile is fastest. please i really need help to make a good decision. i will really appreciate your help. thanks
