Speedtest

Anyone done any speedtests on the bolt since the 4G has been back up??

The best ive got so far is 10 Mbps. But when i was doing the testing my 4G was still in and out, hopefully they get this solved soon.

I would love the consistent speed of 4G, its terrific.

I was in a strong 4g area yesterday, and signal was spotty at best. The network might be "up" but its certainly not as fully functional as it was before.

Yep, totally agree with you there, i just hope they dont think we all are going to put up with that if it stays like that.

When its working its smoking fast but its not consistent.

Its a totally new system and they have to get the bugs worked out of it. Have some patience and be glad you have 4g now. I think where I live I will be lucky to get 4g sometime next year. You dont hear me bitching about how about get it in my area sooner. So cut them some slack and give them time to get it running right.

The first day it was back up I was getting 12 Mbps down and 2.3 Mbps up. Not bad. The second day I was back to the pre-outage 26 Mbps down and 4 up. Woot woot!

NYC speeds are pretty much the same as before the outage.

Where in the city are you? I've been to the Bronx and Queens today. Both Boro's I get 12-14 down Max and 2-3 up.... Can Never get any higher

God lord, I thought I was absolutely hauling ass when I got 23k kbps. Granted it was on the other side of the country, but still.

I would say your TB is magic.

Lol my TB is just a regular TB. It's the location and I happen to be in a very good location in Queens and at my house in Brooklyn. Pretty much getting these speeds all day long. In Manhattan dips slightly but it's still 30+mbps even during the rush hours. You should remember that Verizon's LTE maxes out at 73mbps per sector and in NYC each site has 4-6 sectors. If you are alone on one sector you could see up to 60mbps downlink real life speeds.

Nahhh, its spotty. I was gettin upwards of 30mbps down before the outage...now I'm getting between 10 and 14 down. Which is probably going to be the norm! I bet VZW is starting to control and throttle the speeds we receive.

That's a negative from me. I'm in NYC and 10-14mbps down is not average for me. Try USB tethering and download a well seeded torrent and look for the speeds. That's the best way to determine the real throughput. You should be getting 4+MByte/sec downloads.
