I dont see an option under spen settings to turn on the spen keeper function is this feature omly on the note 2 and not the 10.1?

I believe what you're looking for is under Options>System>S-Pen. Let me know if that's helpful for you.

The Note 10.1 does not have this feature. It does have the Pen icon in the Notification bar if it's removed.
