Help Sph-d710 jellybean update (boost mobile)

bs5283

Newbie
Recently rooted my phone and seen in other forums there is a jellybean update for my device. Fairly new to rooting scene and read i will lose root on update. Tried to install via KIES but computer kept saying drivers not found or device ID not found and wont connect. Is there another way to get JB or is there a custom ROM for JB and how would i install it

I've ran into that problem with many of computers, so work and other refuse. I'm starting to think it is the USB ports themselves that could be causing the problem. Maybe they are not putting off enough power or something. My S2 will not connect on my desktop (e-machine) but works perfectly on my laptop (HP). And my 2 work PC's (both Compaqs) refuse to see my phone.

I have herd USB 3.0 ports having difficulties though I haven't tried it on one. USB 2.0 is what my laptop has USB 2.0

Ok last question, not new to rooting but new to this method, do you also use the tar along with the exe program, thanks again.....;)

Used the .exe loader. Found a how to on youtube by qbking77 its step bybstep and he included links for all files

For future reference, full restore wipes everything off the phone (other than your sd storage). It makes your phone squeaky clean. If you ever flash a nodata and it's having issues, then you probably should have flashed the full restore. That's my perspective on that.
