Root SPOOF YOUR 3G/1X Icon

Hey there, In this tut ill teach (or tell) you how to change /spoof your 3g/1x icon.....I know you hate looking at that 1x icon.

1. Get a rom you are about to flash.

2. Extract all contents.

3. In the frameworks folder, Rename Framework-res.apk into Framework-res.zip.

4. Extract all contents.

5. Look for the folder that contains the icon list with the 1x and 3g.
---TRICKY PART------

6. Move ONLY the 1x files into a separate folder on your desktop.

7. Rename all 3G icon in the EXACT name of the same 1X icon.

8. Then Rename all 1X icons into the 3g format.

9. Repack all files and folders and in winrar, name it Framework.apk (how it was originally)


10. Move it back into the Frameworks folder.

11. Zip all files and folders into the original rom format. (boot.img, data,Meta-INF,system,tools)

12. Flash in CWM.

13.Enjoy


14. IT WILL NOT INCREASE SPEED, JUST CHANGES ICONS

Why would you want to do this, Im wondering?
I mean, would't you _want_ to know if you're on a 1x connection or 3G?

btw. you dont need to rename the framework, just extract it. Assuming you're using 7zip or at least winrar (as most devs/themers/tinkerers do).

Winrar all day I dont really wanna know if im on a 3g/1x connection cause im fully in 3g.

lol true, true. Thats where UOT kitchen or photoshop comes in.....Make a duplcate copy of the icons, but color the incoming/outgoing into colors that you will remember represent 1x.

lol...that's the hard way to do it...just ninja morph the dam res folder to what you want and recompile and reinstall...reboot and Bam....not that I would do it but hey..to each is own.
