I acquired a pre owned Inspire 4G.
The phone connects to an WinXP SP2 machine occasionally.
I have tried multiple micro usb cables (not the charging only cables). I have several oem htc cables.
Its hit or miss. Sometimes I get an "unrecognized device..." windows dialog indicating there was an issue with the usb device. Other times I get nothing.
I have had zero success with Win7 and Vista OS PCs.
I'm thinking:
1. Hardware - there is an issue with the usb port. Damaged pins or something. The phone does charge.
2. Corrupted 2.3.3 install
3. This phone was rooted and 2.3.3 re-installed causing some issues.
Any thoughts?
