Hi There...
Odd occurrence with my phones.
I have two HTC ONE's (M7s not M8). Had one for about 9 months, the other I got last week because my work phone died. Got the M7 so I would be able to jump right back and be up and running.
I rooted the new phone and simply flashed a current NAND backup to the phone. So in effect I have "cloned" the phone. Two EXACT phones.
I was looking over apps and making some tweaks between the phone. I was on the Google Play website and attempted to send an app to my original ONE phone. Sent, all good. Then used the pulldown menu to sent to my new ONE phone that I just got. Didn't work. Odd...I've ALWAYS been able to send stuff to the phones on my account.
I went to Android Device Manager to "locate" the phone...found my original, couldn't find my new one.
I tried a BUNCH of things to reset/reassociate the phone with the network and NOTHING worked.
What is NOW the situation is that it appears that that sending apps to Google Play and sending the "Ring/Locator" option to one of the named phones sends to both phones at the same time!! I send an app to the name of my old phone in the pulldown list and BOTH PHONES get the app. I sent the full-blast find-a-phone ring option in Android Device Manager on my browser to my original phone name and BOTH PHONES RING!!
Previously, I had NO PROBLEM with various different model phones associated with the same gmail.com account. That way I would have the same apps on all my phones, or at least access to the possibility of doing so. I could use the pulldown menu online to send an app from the Play website to whatever phone I wanted.
NOW, however, the phones are INDISTINGUISHABLE at least according to Google Play and Android Device Manager....??
Is this because I "cloned" the phones?? I still thought there would be some sort of distinguishing characteristic that the Play store would otherwise "notice." Like I said, never had a problem with the same gmail.com account on different phones. However, those were DIFFERENT phones.
Is this because they are the same make/model?? Or because I'm rooted and "cloned" them??
Thank you!
