Root [Sprint] Can't get system or samsung updates since rooting

Is there anything I am missing. The Samsung software for the actual phone won't update. Playstore items update just fine, as do samsung apps.

I keep getting a message that my phone has downloaded an uodate, but when it goes into that boot mode and the android icon comes up... it says it failed.

System software updates require a stock phone with stock recovery. Rooting and/or custom recovery will break OTA updates. You'll have to unroot or temporarily disable root (if your SU supports it) and try that way. If you deleted system apps (bloat), that can also break OTA.

stock recovery, all the stock apps EXACTLY as they came via ota, all teh files exactly as they came via ota, stock bootloaders (as in if you flashed a MF2 rom and you were on LJ1 your bootloaders didnt get updated). root doesnt affect updates like that, but just about everything else does...
