Sprint Class Action??

Anyone who says "you singed the contract, deal with it" is a complete idiot. It's bad enough we have these consumer unfriendly contracts here in the US. Since they have suddenly raised our plans, that is a change to the customer agreement and therefore your contact is not valid. Plain and simple. If people would just bombard the governmental agencies with complaints we CAN MAKE CHANGE! Do you really think it's OK for Sprint to just add this new fee? It's as if this is one of the "Just Because" Premier benefits....

if you have to replace your smartphone..and are charged the $10/month fee...

I think you have good chance to get out of contract...

and call me names .. dont make you smarter

Before I moved out of mommy and daddy's house, I was taught decisions have consequences.

What I don't do is get an Evo in a non-4G area, and complain that I don't have 4G, but a higher monthly bill.

What I don't do is upgrade, have to pay an extra $10 and call for class action lawsuits.

You don't like the deal, don't sign the contract. Adults should understand this concept.

My free upgrade is tomorrow, I don't want to pay the extra $10 so I don't get a new phone and renew my contract. I am looking at T-mobile which may be a better value prospect at this time. This is the free market.

That is how easy it is.
Lol, I'm a grown man with kids of my own, so I could care less what happened when you moved out your mommy and daddy's house. Again I'm not in contract. I have an Evo as well as my fiance and I have no problem paying the fees. I live in Atlanta which has 4g service. So I have no dog in the "class action" fight(even though reception is just so-so), but I do know how to analyze shady business practices. If telecommunications was indeed free market then yes, ppl could just up and go to other carriers. With that said there are only maybe 5 major carriers. That isn't free market and sometimes the only way to put these companies in check is litigation regardless of if you think it's right or not.

The $10 fee is for accessing the Sprint network. It's not for using a device you already own. It's for accessing the network and utilizing "premium data", however Sprint defines it.

And for those questioning the legality of "Everything Data" being false advertising, google "fair use policy". Fair use has already withstood several legal challenges.

Here's how you make out so the $10 isn't a rip. I spent 3 months researching phones and plans before I bought the evo. I don't get 4g in my area. Sprint wants $30 to wifi tether the phone, now that my friends is bs. Root the phone, get wireless tether app. Then you can say I only pay $10 to tether. Instead of getting screwed by sprint. You can run your laptop, 360, Ds's, and god knows what else. There ya go. Do you still need to bitch about $10 then? I had sprint 10 yrs ago. It sucked so bad I paid the $200 to get the hell out of the contact. Had nextel till sprint bought them out. I knew about the buy out 6 months before it was announced. Then the service went to shit. But right now from everything I could find, sprint is the only carrier that has true unlimited data. Everybody else caps their unlimited. Think about it, I replaced cable & internet and got a badass phone costing what, $ 70/mo + the ten. How much is cable, web, and phone separately? You get all that and only have to pay ten bucks for it? If you play it that way your actually "saving" money. So stop bitchin and make it work for you.

How did you replace your cable and I like your tether idea? I love the tether feature and don't mind paying 10 bux for it so that's a good perspective to have. Would love to hear how you are using your phone for cable and I don't see this ever replacing my broadband internet which is consistently 15mb/s.

The term everything data is misleading but so are many other things cell phone companies charge for. sprint and other companies often inflate peoples bills hoping people won't notice, at least for several months if ever. How many of us are still waiting for rebate checks? How many people have the $9.99 charge from some mysterious company supposedly from a text message? How many people have bills that look nothing like the price you signed up for? How come cell phone companies don't have to show you all the taxes and other charges "up front?"

I don't know who is worse, cell phone companies or hotels? I agree that this shouldn't be handled by lawyers. It should be handled by legislators who we elect, but they are two busy getting kick backs from lobbyists.:(
