Root [Sprint] CM-10.2 UNOFFICIAL Samsung Galaxy Victory

Theming via XTheme or HKTheme in my opinion is kind of a hit or miss, it's better than not being able to, but call me picky, but I'd prefer the CM Theme Engine. Also, the CM10 builds has way better battery life, at least for me and is a lot less heavy on the device without stripping functionality. Also CM handled changes to audio I/O far much better. By habit, I change my audio mode to headset on Audio Manager Plus and then put my headset in. On CM, it does not change the mode. On TW, rooted or non-rooted, it does and I have to change it again. And CM handles equalizers better and keeps it in memory whereas I found that the sound would change on TW every now and then.

I can see why Touchwiz 4.x was not universally liked, even on rooted stock, it feels kind of heavy. But since I need my camera and a working GPS, I flashed back to my rooted TW stock.

actually that's not entirely true.. the rom works fine, I've even tried it on my sprint victory of course data doesn't work, so.. if you don't plan on using the device as a mini tablet then yeah, its basically worthless unless you somehow manage to fix it yourself.

It is very true, it is intended only for mg5. You may have tried on sprint, but a few have tried it on VM updated to nd4 and some have bricked or broken data to the point that it took much more than restoring a backup to fix. Remember that there are people here with EXTREMELY limited knowledge, and careless advice causes them hardcore problems. :cool:

the thing i am most worried about is just having enough space for my apps and a close to vanilla OS i have a 32gb card inside but i dont want to root yet or anything until i know for sure that i will be able to move apps to my external storage my music and pictures will obviously also be on the external card as well. I'm not worried about any samsung specific apps, but development for this device is scarce :( makes me sad

You can get your apps on sdcard. You need root w/SuperSU and busy box. Then you need to create a 2nd ext4 partition on your SD card and install the app link2sd.

Would it be as stable as the one you are running, if there are issues what are they specifically? I get 4G pretty much everywhere I go, i know 4g LTE was a problem on my old HTC with CM10. If you need my help let me know! I'd love to be involved and help in any way to get a good rom for this phone going? there isnt many.

I'd really like to see a Sprint version of this or your Americanus Victorious rom. There are so few choices on the Sprint side. I'm currently running the Sprintorious - Victorious rom from jerryscript but its a bit outdated. Maybe even attempt updating it?
You would have my support in testing anything for the Sprint Victory! :)
