Root [Sprint/Cricket] A hand please?

Help!!!!! So I know I'm not the most tech savvy person, but I seem to keep having this issue when trying to install the CARBON rom. Everytime I tether it to my computer even with the standard windows files tranfer and the one spcifically for the Galaxy S3 when I try to transfer files they dont show up or it wont allow me to access the ones that do, can anyone tell me what is I need to do to correct this problem
 
In other words, your computer cannot see your internal or external memory when you plug your device into your computer?
And what do you mean "install" the Carbon rom? Do you mean, transfer the rom .zip to the phone memory?
Are you rooted?
 
I thought I had it rooted but apparently may have screwed that up, ill admit to being a tad naive when it comes to this I'm quite typically one of those people that as long as the phone works I'm good lol and sadly can't just call tech support for this, and yes my apologies its the zipped rom for carbon... honestly I'm a tad lost and just afraid I screwed something up at this point but I'm jot even certain how to start over cuz I have a "distraction" if u will, so I've only been able to give my full attention to trying to do this very recently

Just to clarify, you have the Sprint model of the S3?

@chaotic....you think you are rooted?
Let me ask a few questions if I may just to make sure what we got going on here:)

What guide did you follow? And the reason I ask is, I would like to take a look at it also to see the root process. I am sure you needed to download the drivers.
And in that guide, I am sure that you had to move at least one file to the phone yes?
Did that file transfer o.k.?
Do you have a superuser app in your app drawer?
Do you have a custom recovery?

When you plug your device into your computer and pull down the phone's notification bar, is there an option to select? And after selecting that, you should be offered the option of "mtp" or "ptp". :)

I won't ask anymore questions in this post :p

So as of right now your unsure if your rooted?

Do you have the "superuser" or SuperSu app?

Once confirmed or denied, we'll go from here :)
 
so still no luck with the root, seems every route I can find for the Srpint Galaxy S3 model SPH-L710 is either not out for about another week or incompatible with my model number... guess ill have to wait then?
