Root [Sprint/Cricket] Blazer V. Baked

I have a rooted S3 and had been running Blazer 1.7 for a while. The ROM is very smooth and has SOME Samsung stock features without being too bloated. I wanted to try an AOSP Android. I have previously used Cyanogenmod on various other devices and loved it. I chose Baked (for something different). First of all, I used TWRP for the first time. Damn, I wish I used that before. I flashed the newest version of Baked and I got what I expected. A clean and smooth GS3 that mirrored the Galaxy Nexus 4.1.

I ended up flashing Blazer 1.9 after a day or so. My biggest complaint was that I could not access my SD card files from the gallery or music player in Baked. I had this issue before on my GS2 and I know there was some work around but honestly that put me off. Plus, I actually enjoy flaunting my S Voice off to customers and some of the other GS3 specific features.

If you want an AOSP experience like Baked, try Codename Android or AOKP. Cyanogemmod and CM based roms work smoother on my phone than AOSP based roms so I use CM10, ParanoidAndroid, or my current Code Fire X.

Blazer is a smooth stock rom, FreeGS3 is smoother (imo) and has more features and is more customizable especially because it includes UpdateMe with several flashable zips included.

Google Now is better than S Voice so I try to stay on JB roms with full Google Now. Just some of my experiences.

you can also flash google now on ICS roms. Theres a thread on xda for it, which ill post later

That's true but I said FULL Google Now for a reason. The flashable version for ICS isn't full. It doesn't allow offline support and it doesn't update from the Google Play store (in my experience) to include some of the latest things (I believe a few cards were added, I forgot :p ). JB will have the full version and will allow updating from the Google Play store.

You're referring to CM or AOKP lock screen or the TouchWiz jelly bean lock screen?

I'm referring to the touchwiz jb lockscreen. I haven't found a jb rom that has the same interface as the ICS touchwiz lockscreen yet. Oh, and the app drawer on job isn't my fave either
