Root [Sprint/Cricket] bluetooth range low?

I have the new galaxy s3 after upgrading from the original one. it seems to me that the range of the bluetooth is quite a bit less. is anyone having this issue?
I listen to podcast via bluetooth and in the past was able to have the phone in the bedroom and could easily listen in an adjacent room (15 feet with a wall separating). no static, no disconnecting on the old epic.

with this new one, i get a lot of static.

are you rooted? if so, have you done the manual update? if not, the automatic one?

no, its not rooted.
I'm on sprint and did the automatic update.
Since i had just gotten the phone before this update, I'm uncertain if i was having this issue before the update or not.

id try to run the auto update anyways, they can often contain new radio software and a weak bluetooth signal can be from a kernel issue. who knows? i couldnt imagint aht it would hurt your cause any

If it's a problem, you could always go get a replacement.
