Root [Sprint/Cricket] Rom Manager - No SGS3

Vastlee

Newbie
Want to use Rom Manager to keep me up to date on CM9, but it doesn't like my CWM. Fine, but when it asks me to verify my phone model the S3 isn't in the list. Don't want to F my phone up selecting the wrong one. Suggestions?

Personally I wouldn't use Rom manager. It has the habit of messing up Samsung devices so just use cwm recovery instead.

If you let me know which version of the gs3 you have I'll move the thread over to the relevant all things root forum.

id avoid rom manager at all costs. Its not too much more of a process to flash via recovery, and rom manager is known to be buggy across all hardware platforms that ive ever come across (then subsequently wiped off, of course)

Yup. I'll second that rom manager is not the way to handle things.

Much easier, and simpler, to just use the custom recovery you flash in the first place. What was the point if you're going to just use an app? :P
I'm also resistant to change with my phone. I've been known to use a ROM and kernel version that's so far out of date, I look like a nut for using it.

I get set into a way of using things, and don't like change. The only thing I think I've liked so far is TWRP. Touch screen working in a recovery? Much easier to navigate with versus scrolling with volume rocker and power. That was the Evo 3D though. We'll see how I like the S3. I bought this over the Evo LTE specifically because of the battery and bootloader. We shall see indeed...
