Sprint Hero Rooted and running Fresh 1.1 But..

How do I get rid of the damned Sprint bloatware? I tried deleting it out of Settings>Applications, but it didn't let me.

Use Pre-Kitchen to remove/add stock apps. It is the easiest way of doing it once rooted and running Fresh 1.1. You can get the link to download it in my guide.

I just realized that even though I didn't delete it alot of the bloatware I didn't want is gone (I.E. Nascar, stocks, etc.) Only one that I'll probably still get rid of is NFL Mobile.

If you have fresh 1.1 then he removed alot of the bloatware for you.

So what would be a better idea to use for gps directions, Google Maps or Sprint Navigation? I've used Sprint Navigation once or twice and it worked nicely, but I haven't tried Google Maps yet.

Just rooted my Sprint Hero with Pre-Kitchen 0.2 and loaded Fresh 1.1

Everything went smoothing, but for whatever reason I can't get the Sprint NFL app and the Stocks app to uninstall via pre-kitchen 0.2

It tells me that they uninstall, and then reboots the phone, but they are still listed in my applications on the phone. Any advice?

If you installed Fresh 1.1, then they should be gone already. The only Sprint app that was left on mine after installing Fresh was Sprint Navigation.

That's what I assumed too, but apparently not. I had to manually uninstall alot of the Sprint bloatware with Kitchen 0.2, which worked, other than NFL and Stocks. Odd

Just found another one that Kitchen 0.2 won't delete for me: Peep

I figured I'd free up more space in the internal memory and download a twitter client from the marketplace, which I did. But I went to delete Peep and upon rebooting (after Kitchen said it was deleted), it's still there. Just like the other two apps that I can't get rid of.

Kitchen diagnostics are fine on all fronts, so no issues there. Using Vista Home 32bit.

Under your applications do you have Wireless tether?

Yes, and I've already used it. I just tried a manual pull and delete with kitchen and It work for nfl mobile but not stocks or peep. In doing that, nfl mobile app is now gone, but the icon still shows on programs.

Thanks Mike. Just reflashed with Fresh 1.1 again and everything was gone this time, except Sprint NAV, which I easily removed with Kitchen 0.2

Was able to re-add voice recorder, and ringtone trimmer (both, which I use). thx
