Root [Sprint] hotspot

I am running mahdi 2.7 ROM on my Sprint galaxy s4. I don't know if the ROM is giving me trouble or of its something else, but I can't seem to get hotspot working. It appears to be working since I can log on to the hotspot network with another device and everything seems normal. But when I try to get on the internet it says there is no internet connection. That goes for the phone and whatever device I'm trying to use hotspot with. I don't get the usual Sprint notification that you get normally with an unrooted phone so it looks like it's hacked to work but no internet on the phone or tethered device. I turn hotspot back off and then I have internet on the phone again . Any ideas/expertise ?
 
Have you tried wiping davlic and cache? Or possibly a clean re-flash of your Rom? If these don't help can you replicate this on another Rom? Also your android version and baseband would be good this to let us know so as to best see your specific solution. ;)

Thank you for responding.
I did try your suggestions of wiping the delvic and cache, as well as tried to flash the ROM again. Still having the issue. My computer shows that there is no internet access even thought it is logged on to the hotspot network.:confused:
Haven't tried it on another ROM yet, though it has worked with every other custom ROM I have ever tried in the past
My device baseband is L720VPUAMDC
Android version 4.4.4

Funny you say that. I tried Mahdi, didn't like it and am currently on a CM11 nightly which I enjoy a lot. Hotspot definitely works well.
