Root [Sprint] How do we stop updates?!!!

How can we stop any OTA updates from being pushed to a phone from the carrier or stop an update from the nagging update screen Not google play? I post this 6 months to late but am looking for the future. Mostly on non rooted phones, any kind of phone not just S4's.

Menu
Settings

Then unselect and Notifications and Auto-Update.

That should sort it all out
