Sprint ICS Released

I guess they are saying that some of them can't make calls. Just out of curiosity, I tried to reproduce the problem on the V, and when I had wifi on I couldn't make a call. Anyone else get that problem?
 
Not sure if anybody knows but I wanted to ask anyway. There are already flashable zips with the radio only available, would it be safe to flash just the radio to see if there is an improvement?
 
I am wondering this also, if just flashing the firmware would fix the issues. But it also might not be safe to flash...is anyone on stock ROM getting an OTA?


It also might be possible to flash the firmware with hboot removed, so that the ones we have now aren't updated and we just get the radio update.

UPDATE: Someone has confirmed flashing the whole firmware, hboot 1.58 included, and he says that it retained s-off. Dang, wonder if this will work for out phones.

There is already a radio ONLY flashable zip available here.
 
Many people have had no problems flashing the zip with hboot and boot images removed over at the 3D forums. Though I'm on the same page as you, don't know if it would cause problems with our phones.
 
I would think that we could extract the radio that we have from the RUU to flash back to if it did not work, but that is far above my pay grade. That is why I asked here. I would ask in that forum but I am unable to post in the DEV forum on XDA because I do not have enough posts to do so.
 
Yeah, same. I asked in the General forum...wonder if I got a response.


EDIT: ognimnella stated that it probably wouldn't be safe to flash because we are a different variant, but then I wonder how they flashed our firmware.
 
When they flashed our firmware they ran into all sorts of issues and found it extremely difficult to revert back to their original radio.

I was one of the ones that flashed the VM firmware on my sprint 3d and had zero issues. ran it that way until I was terminated by Sprint for excessive data roaming which is why I'm here now.
