I have seen Sprint's update has been out for a few weeks. As of now, my phone says it is up to date.

How long does it take before it is fully released?

If you're tired of waiting, check out this how-to:

It will update you to MA6,but immediately after updating, you'll be prompted to update to MB1,which is a minor update to MA6,just some minor things left out of the 1st 4.1.2 update.

THIS IS FOR SPRINT HANDSETS ONLY!

It's weird...I have 3 Sprint GS3's in my house...2 of them got the 4.1.2 OTA update but mine hasn't yet! Should I be concerned or just wait it out?

Glad to get this 4.1.2 update on my SPRINT GS3 for the following improvements:

1) Weird scrolling issue is gone

http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...4.html?highlight=scrolling+issues#post5257714

2) BLUETOOTH & GOOGLE NOW Voice Search play nice w/each other.(It works)

3) NFC Improvements(?): My NFC-enabled BLUETOOTH headset:

Elite Sliver - Wireless HD Bluetooth Headset - Motorola Mobility LLC. USA

now pairs utilizing NFC (Did not work, going back to ICS).

Overall, the phone seems to run a bit smoother, even more so after performing a factory reset,(THX SUroot)

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/659933-problems-after-upgrade-factory-reset.html

which cleaned up things to where a few of my apps that weren't functioning as they should, are now OK (PHANDROID APP notably working much better now).

Only one problem now:

Convincing the left side of my brain that I need to get the HTC ONE or SGS IV :D

How would I do this?? I opened it up and saw nothing to do this. Do I need to download and install via Kies??

Thanks!

Plug you phone into the USB of the computer. Run Kies and it should connect to the phone. It will show you which version OS is installed. If there is an update it will show that below your current version. It will also give you the chance to update while connected. If there is one and you start Do NOT disconnect the phone until complete. Kies will let you know when you can disconnect.

I will check that out!! I have connected wirelessly but saw nothing other than a file browser.

Thanks again!

Just noticed this morning :

Pre-4.1.2 update, I was able to disable the SAMSUNG CALENDAR APP & use GOOGLE CALENDAR.

Now, after the update, I have to keep SAMSUNG CALENDAR & associated apps enabled for GOOGLE CALENDAR to work.

Not really a big deal, but, just trying to keep the phone clutter-free,& have as few apps as possible taxing the battery.

Can someone else on SPRINT test/verify/duplicate this?

THX!

Unless I am missing something, I didn't see anything to do this.

I did end up doing the manual upgrade as explained in the video above!

I didn't either, followed the directions as best as I could glean from the info,etc....

Just as easy,if not easier,to load up from a trusted source, such as QBKING 77 & his YOU-TUBE channel.

Plus, how often do most use KIES & the added bloat on their phones?

Since installing the update to 4.1.2,I cannot send picture MMS. Other attachments (links) send OK, just not pix or videos. I've tried clearing cache in recovery, & factory resets with & without data backups restored. Nothing has helped.

The only other option I can think of is a fresh download & re-flashing of the update.

Any suggestions before I go this route? Or, is this a known bug w/o a fix to date?

THX!

Just got off the phone w/SPRINT.

MMS is now working once again, after the CSR did a refresh on their end, followed by a battery pull/re-boot & had me punch in a couple of codes.

Well if you haven't gotten the OTA update yet, and you're not a fan of KIES. I would manually apply the update to your phone.

This is the best site imo for manually updating to 4.1.2 (it's the same exact update as the OTA update). The video is super easy to follow and requires no rooting or any other funky things you have to do to your phone. Took me 15 minutes from start to finish and most of that time was taken up downloading the update. Haven't had any issues since updating manually.

A word of caution, this is only for SPRINT and if your running stock Touchwiz. I you're rooted, I would check out XDA and see if there's an update to the ROM you're running.

Already on the update.Everything is working as it should now & who knows why MMS was broke on my phone, but,it's working now.:D

I actually attempted a re-flash of the update (MA6 link),but,it was a no-go.I'm guessing one would have to use ODIN for that,as it would technically be a downgrade to MA6. Thought it'd be best to exhaust all other avenues before going that route.....

Yeah,I manually updated using QBKING77's tutorial/download links.
I also recommend his tutorials to others, his instructions are very clear & to the point,as close to full proof as one can guarantee.Just have to make sure his tutorials are for your specific phone/carrier,which he clearly states w/all of his tutorials.

Glad everything is up & running once again,it'll make for an easier waiting period for the HTC ONE to drop.........;):D

Yeah I like his tutorials as well. I used his tutorial when I manually upgraded to JB last November.

I should of added this is for Sprint only S3's (made the edit in my post).

Hey all.

I woke up this morning to find a software update available for my S3 (unrooted). I installed the update and found that my OS version is 4.1.2! Not sure if anyone else from Sprint has received this update on their S3 yet (my parents both have the S3, but I didn't get to look at their phones before work).

If I'm not mistakened, wouldn't the 4.1.2 update be the premium suite with the dual screen ability? I noticed there are now options to modify the swipe-to-unlock screen widgets, but not much else.

Any ideas? (I'm surprised I haven't seen a post on Phandroid's main page about this yet)

Yes, JellyBean 4.1.2 does have the premium suit with all the added features. I have it on my Note and I really like the new features.
