Root [Sprint] [Kernel][OC]VaeVictus 1.8 GHz Goodness!!!!!

rbheromax

Okay so basically this project has kind of been merged with the VaeVictus kernel project by Jerry Script. Flashing it is fine. I reccomend just flashing the kernel atm as I don't know the exact install method to install Victorious 0.2.1

Introducing VaeVictus
Overclocked Kernel for
Galaxy Victory

This kernel is built from the official Samsung source for the Galaxy Victory, release MC1. It has been built with the Linaro toolchain for maximum efficiency. Thanks to rbheromax, it has the ability to overclock to 1.8ghz, and has extra governors added to allow you to find the best settings for your personal needs!

Standard Warning: Placing unofficial software on your phone could damage it, and even brick it leaving it unusable for anything. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone! This kernel is released as is, with the source available for those who want it, but with NO WARRANTY AT ALL!

Note- see second post for older versions

Update 7-29-13 : Pulled in rbheromax's frequency fixes to fix some governor issues. Please report any issues.

  1. Download VaeVictus-Voltage-Fix.zip
  2. Place on your sdcard
  3. Boot into recovery
  4. Flash VaeVictus
  5. Reboot

To change the default overclock and governor settings, download an app from the Play Store such as No-frills CPU Control. There are many apps to choose from, but be warned that some may not work properly with our phones, so MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP FIRST!

Please post all questions about overclocking and governors in the testing thread. All other questions about VaeVictus will be answered here. ;)

Huge thanks to rbheromax
for all his help getting overclock frequencies
and governors performing properly!

Why did I misspell VaeVictus (VaeVictis)?
Call it the second error made in building this kernel.
The first error was of course me thinking I could build it in one night!
;)

No guides come to mind, look at the guide for flashing the stuff to the d2
Just tweak instructions (input file)
It's mostly the same
Just in case u don't know the D2 is the sgs3

Oh yeah, just flash recovery and dump that backup

Ima make a zip that u can flash to get root

Do u prefer Superuser by chainsdd or supersu by chainfire for ur root granting needs?

No problem, I have those times still, I haven't flashed anything via odin in months, I just got my hands img the Evo 3d
But I heard sometimes u have to flash twice for it to really flash, idk

I would like to request source for this kernel. I have started mine and just wanted to see if you have anything I planned on doing before hand, as I don't mind using patches to get the job done.

Should work, but just in case, I'll build a version from the VirMo sources. I will send a link in a PM when built

Um...well this is embarrasing, and thanks I could use a tester. I need a few days as this device currently isn't priority for me at the moment. I will do a fresh build, could you just give me some info: Sprint or VirMo? and ICS or JB? Fresh build is needed because I lost my place mentally of where exactly I was in modifications.

Sprint. And I'm on 4.1.1, which is JB
