[Sprint] Lean Kernel version 1.9 or 4.2 on JB 4.1.1 rom

I *believe * both versions will work on the RU jellin ROM. Its cm10 skank that requires the specific version. The stable will work. I was running lean w/ jell in last week. But I'm back to trinity, my phone seems to respond well to it.
 
Btw slydie, Frenchy figured out how to make lean colors look like Trinity's colors through the built in settings. He postrd them in one of the earlier threads but i dont remember which one. I'm sure if you ask nice, he'll post them again.

hey frenchy i know this is a bit off subject but i was wondering if you have know of any flashable zip mods for the gnex that will work on the acs jellin rom? i have a circle battery already but maybe for the nav bar or a good dark theme? thanks in advance

There aren't many mods available for JB on our devices as of yet. I'm currently using this theme in conjunction with Stygian Black icons; here's a screen shot.

The only thing though is that DJ theme will only work on CM10 JellyBro, nothing else. Theme chooser is close to being ported to toroplus, so when that happens, it won't matter what ROM you're on.
 
This is why I love Lean Kernel:

It idles like Netarchy's Toastmod did back in the OG days. I usually have my phone on Airplane Mode while I sleep so I don't get waken up by GTalk, emails, etc. I'll lose about .5% over a course of about 8 hrs. that way. If not on Airplane Mode, I'll lose 1.5-2% over an 8 hr. period. In both situations battery is great on this kernel.

If anyone would like to give Lean a try, I'll share my kernel settings, leantweak settings, as well as color settings (if coming from Trinity lol) to get you right!

(Using Franco's app to control CPU but you can use the native CPU control settings included in your ROM if you'd like) Max. 920 Min. 230, screen off max. 230. w/ ondemand governor.

Swap and Zram enabled in Leantweaks using terminal.

Color settings (using Franco's app), -10, 0, 2 (now using the color multipliers or "sliders") 120, 130, 200. Lastly I set omap4 to 1.4.
 
Alright, decided to try lean again. I set the colors to frenchy's settings and they do look pretty close to trinity. So far decent battery life over the past couple days. I think this might be the new kernel.

Are you using the native color controls? I'd like you to try the color settings I have using Franco's app, would you happen to have it? A lot closer to Trinity than using the native color control settings.

Outside of that, I'm' glad it's working out for you. Did you flash the stable version or the experimental?

I just used the cm settings. I haven't purchased Franco's app yet, but I intend to. I flashed the stable version and changed CPU to 920 350. Good looking on the settings.

Np. Let me know when you purchase the app and I'll hook you up with the settings. Also, give Lean's latest experimental a go. It's very stable and you can have a lower frequency than 350. I'm currently running the 230 min. one. You should see an increase in overall battery running this over the stable.
 
Okay so I have a question about Franco app, does it work with other kernels? I know it works with Franco ans lean but was wondering if I ever switch to something else will it still work?

You're better off going to the main thread (don't worry about it saying VZW Galaxy Nexus, his kernels work for all Gnex variants like Trinity's) and go to JB Experimental folder:

The kernel linked in the OP is dated and newer versions have been released since then. You can always go to the ROM's & Kernels sticky as well to access the kernel.
 
Wow. I am not with it today. I was going to the root wiki to download and couldn't find the latest build. Yeah, turns out that scrolling down would be the way to go. Geez! One of those days.
