[Sprint] Looking for a good Rom

I've heard nothing but great things about it.....Don't you miss any of the additional settings or mods you get with other ROM's? That's the only thing stopping me from flashing.
Only things I really miss are the Power Menu and the ability to change my battery in my status bar from icon to percentage. I could probably mod that myself, but Pure AOSP is just so...pure :p Battery life is not a big issue for me with kernels, so I can do without the percentages since it lasts me all day anyways.

On my Marquee, getting into recovery takes about 10 seconds of holding down the Volume and Power buttons, so it's a pain in the ass for me. The Nexus boots almost instantly when I press my buttons, so I can live without the extended power menu and just Shut Down > Bootloader.

You could dl Quick Boot from Play to access recovery without all those steps....

Not even a little. I don't even use a custom kernel. Usually see 4hrs screen time over 20hrs. Stock battery as well.

+1 for VanirAOSP.....Not as much customization BUT it is by far the fastest JB ROM I've ran......The ROM is only 95 mb before flashing gaaps.

Have you tried Purely AOSP yet? Everything works, fast and smooth. I like it.

Yes. You can flash an ICS ROM coming from JB without issue. Once you experience JB, you won't want to go back to ICS ;).

I am trying Codename Android right now it is working great!

Forgot to tell you Congrats on Rooting and now Congrats of flashing your first JB ROM on your new Gnex!!!

Yeah, CNA is my fav and my daily; I'm currently on his latest nightly (8/23) and am waiting for another official release that the Dev should be dropping sometime tonight. Which version are you running (3.3.1 or latest nightly)?

You can keep up with Codename here:

I am running 3.1.0 right now, thanks for the website I might update to a newer one. I just wanted to make sure I like it first.

Codename has improved by leaps and bounds since 3.1.0, so you may want to give 3.3.1 a go or you can wait till tomorrow and try his latest official release.

just wondering does your nexus get hot when running multimedia like movies?

My Gnex gets warm at times (if I'm running it HARD), but for the most part stays cool. You may want to try a different kernel if your phone is getting too hot. I'm currently running Franco kernel milestone 5. Lean kernel is also a great choice. You can find them both on the ROM's and Kernels dl sticky.

Wonder what themes would work well with this rom. I am searching their forums but not getting anywhere. Cant wait for the update to come out the features sound awsome

On a side not im thinking about looking into the source for this it looks way easier than android 2 and 3 on the optis
