Help Sprint mobile network settings

On my Sprint S3 I notice if I try to go under mobile networks and choose LTE/CDMA I will not get any signal. It will restart the phone and then there's no 3G signal. I have to keep it on CDMA (which it's on now) and it works fine. What happened? I haven't messed with any of the settings.

Being on CDMA keeps the LTE radio off. If theres no LTE in your area theres really no reason to have it on.

That doesn't answer why you cant connect to 3G with the CDMA/LTE option though. That should still work normally. I would try doing a PRL/Profile update

Oh, and Sprint is working on 4G in my area (it keeps popping up on occasion) and so I was checking. That's how I discovered that CDMA/LTE wasn't even registering. I can make calls, send texts etc but no access to the Internet...

I did a PRL and Profile update and there is still no 3G/4G showing up...

I didn't solve this problem. It still shows no signal when I try to switch on LTE. I can make it to the Sprint store tomorrow to see if they can look at it.

Thanks man but I finally got it. It turns out I had to wait several minutes before the signal came back on. It was really weird to have to wait up to 5 minutes for signal but nonetheless it's working now :)

Ok so I thought I had the problem fixed but now it's back. I noticed during the day that the phone will be fine and have signal on CDMA/LTE and then at random I would pull my phone out of my pocket to find no 3G signal at all and I'd have to go back to CDMA and have the phone automatically reboot. The phone will still work fine on CDMA and seeing that my area doesn't have 4G yet it's not a HUGE deal, but I still don't get why it won't work like regular under CDMA/LTE. I really don't want to have to go by Sprint but I guess I have to at this point. It's an annoying problem.
