Sprint Navigation - Just Discovered

I just discovered that Sprint Navigation was on my phone.

I was with a friend of mine driving and told her I needed to get a GPS (with all the times I'm getting lost, etc.)

She has a Palm Pre and told me I have Sprint Navigation.

I had no clue.

I've even heard this was exclusive to Sprint.

With all the marketing, and talk about 2.1 with GPS Navigation, how could I not have known about this wonderful App on my Android HTC Hero?

They provide a couple books with the phone, does anyone actually read them

Hmm.. well I haven't been using it.

But am now curious:

On my old Katana, Sprint Navigation was a "premium" app that had a monthly fee.

Is it free on Hero or does it have a monthly charge?

Make sure you buy a car charger when using Sprint Nav....it will eat up your battery really fast...

used it last week, I work in sales and was in an area I didn't know too well, the place i was looking to find was right around the corner :-) I had a good laugh at it!

Chris

P.S.- I've used a few times sided by side with my GPS and it's been just as good if not better

DOINK

Thanks momo. I have the everything plan also. Guess I will start using Sprint Navigation.

I used to have sprint Nav on my old sprint phone, but it was monthly fee like someone said earlier, but I have to admit, since I haven't rooted my phone and running the 1.5 ver. the Sprint Nav is way better than google maps. It also lets you know about traffic accidents and give visual ques where the accident is it can also reroute you if need be. Its a good tool to have. It also tell you where resturant are or place of business.

It is nice to have, I use it and Google maps all the time.. make sure you get in the everything plan for $69. And like they said get a charger. I have a Garmin GPS but I don't always carry it with me but I do my phone.

No, seriously. Don't always believe this feature. It tried sending me down a hill one day. Luckily I was in my wife's car... So I didn't follow it. lol. It really did though. I guess it was a road that was meant to be put in at one time, but wasn't or something.

That's true for pretty much any GPS unit

All Everything plans have it but if I want quick NON turn by turn, I use Google Maps, also on the phone. So much for my Garmin's and OnStar.......
