Sprint Navigation?

Probably a dumb question, but I had installed AOSP 9.9.2 ROM a while ago on my wife's Hero and today she said she didn't have her Sprint Navigation on there. I didn't know what to say...LOL! Is there a way I can get that back on there? I imagine it wasn't included is this ROM.

Thanks!

Well that is because the AOSP Roms do not have any of the Sprint Bloatware, she can use Google Nav, or you can get the Sprint Navigation from this post HERE You would download that to the root of your SD card and then flash it like a Rom, hope that helps, again make sure you Nandroid backup, just incase you have an issue as i am not responsible for issue to your phone, so protect her phone to be safe. ;)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I went and downloaded the Google Maps / Nav Beta and so far she loves it!!! I doubt she'll go back to the Sprint Nav now. :)

Here's a good link to the Google Navigation (Beta) page

Stuff I like about Google Nav
  • All your contacts addresses automatically sync
  • Star a place in maps on your PC and it syncs to Maps on your phone
  • You can add a GPS coordinate as a contact address and it will take you to that point
  • They just announced live traffic routing. IMHO it's been doing this for awhile (remember it's Beta). Last fall I noticed that it stopped telling me to get off the tollway and take some surface streets. The surface street route was shorter buy NEVER faster. Supposedly it uses location data they are getting from other Google Android phones for traffic info (even if they are not using NAV)
  • Always remember... (like it or not) Google knows everything
  • Google Places (find a place, NAV will take you there)

Lately I've been getting two different voices, maybe they are updating

I do like Google navigation a lot too but there are some features I wish they include. For instance, like what JB in Az mention, the audio is pretty bad. Also wish they have lane assist, doesn't seem too hard to add. And one major thing that Google Nav need to improve on is save destination like quickly selecting your home location, such a simple thing but very important one.
