Root [Sprint] Need sprint stock recovery

the recovery must match the firmware for the build you are currently running. have you modified your firmware? if not, what software build are you on?

you also need to be 100% stock system, not on a custom rom(no bloat removed, build.prop mods, modules installed, etc). so its not quite as simple as installing a stock recovery.

Well the firmware is untouched and the software is the kitkat update before sense 6. I'm trying to update my cousins phone, I would have to see his phone again to see the software build he is on

im off to work so i dont have time to reasearch that at the moment, but heres another option for you:

5.03.651.3_Stock | Rooted | 4.4.2 | Sense 6 [5/29/2014] Odex/Deodex - xda-developers

you can flash one of the roms in recovery, and flash the firmware.zip file via the bootloader, and the result will be exactly the same, saving you the effort of re-rooting after, and removing the uncertainty of applying an OTA(i would make sure the phone is s off before flashing the firmware.zip)
