Root [Sprint] [OUDHS] TWRP 2.4.3.0 For the Galaxy Victory

Android Enthusiast
Well ladies and gentlemen, because of my pioneering spirit and my love for all things android I have ported TWRP to the Galaxy Victory. All you have to do is flash the zip with CWMR and reboot into recovery for touch, open source, graphics goodness. Remember backups from CWMR are not compatible with TWRP so if you have a sweet favorite backup of your device made with CWM, you might want to pull that bad boy off the device and save it for a rainy day. Also, I have a zip that just needs a little tweaking and it will swap your recovery with a single flash. By that I mean you can flash the zip and it'll swap the recoveries. Flash it again and it'll swap them back. If anyone wants to mess with that let me know. and, because you were patient and read my long rant of a thread, here's the link:

TWRP_2.6.3.0_zip

TWRP-2.6.3.0_tar

UPDATE: External storage now works. That was the only thing I could find wrong with it. If there are more bugs let me know please.

is a generic link to the top level directory of all the devices OUDHS have worked with. Please notice it is a kinda diverse selection. If a you think I am missing a link, navigate to your device and check out what I have. Sometimes I delete crap files so links die but a newer version may be available. I have six kids and nine dogs and a wife. I work alone and I work on at least 4-5 devices at a time. Most of them I do not own. Along with that I help guys like rbheromoax learn, and jimmy422 to get set-up with some in depth Q and A for his device. He is building cm-10 for the Reverb. I'm saying this so you will understand some things about what goes on with me. Yesterday was my birthday and the night before three of my dogs showed up with porcupine quills in their noses. We almost had to put one to sleep, but the vet was able to fix them for about $250. I have a life like the rest, but consider that what holds up development for what is basically an enthusiastic hobby are real life experiences that are like yours and not always good. RANT OVER.

Glad you got it worked out roberto. USB cable can make it or break it. I've been through so many I started buying them in bulk on eBay! ;)

Luckily, I have a whole big drawer full of about 50 USB cables ;)

Also, TWRP is awesome. Thanks for this.

It's a great phone. I like it.

I just wish recovery would stick :P But all in due time, I'm sure.

I mean. Stock kernel scored a 7400 on Antutu for me earlier. So that's not bad at all. Considering all I've done is rooted, and that's it.

What does "recovery would stick" mean? You should be able to use Odin like normal, but uncheck "reboot". Once it's finished writing, unplug the device, pull the battery. Replace the battery, hold up and power, win.

As for the kernel. I'm gonna release a kernel that's not crippled to 1.2 ghz once I have time to test and maybe code a higher cap if there are stability issues.

I thought that once you rebooted, it reverted back to stock recovery? Or is it that once you do the battery pull and whatnot once it says "Success" that you permanently have TWRP now? I haven't tried recovery since I flashed SuperSu and Busybox.

If you do the dance, the recovery stays. After that, it's there. I could explain it better, but I'm losing my train of thought.

1. Install the Samsung drivers
2. Plug in the phone and wait for the drivers to finish installing
3. Power off the device.
4. Put the device in Download mode by pressing VOL-DN then Power. Hold until a choice menu appears
5. Push volume up to chose Download Mode
6. Fire up Odin.
7. Chose the .tar file using the PDA slot option
8. Uncheck "Auto-Reboot"
9. Chose "Start"
10. When Odin is done, unplug the phone.
11. Remove the battery
12. Replace the battery
13. Press Vol-Up then Power until the words "Booting into recovery" appear in the upper left corner
14. The TWRP logo should show after the screen flashes grey briefly.

Thanks!!!!!! Going to give it a try. And after i install TWRP moving apps to SD Should work or should i install Root is there a .zip file for root also?

Using the link in the first post, go to the Tools directory. The Samsung drivers are there, as are BusyBox and SuperSu installation zips.

Yeah I had that issue. Turns out once its done writing and you see that its completed, you need to unplug the USB, do a battery pull, THEN reboot into recovery.

That little dance will do the trick.
